Fun in the Sun

Splash!!Lana and I have been trying to have as much fun as possible lately :) Don't get me wrong, I am very excited to have another baby, as well as Lana is VERY excited to have a baby brother. I just realize that things probably won't be as easy once the new baby arrives... so I have been spending extra time with my girl lately since it will be the last time it is just the two of us. (Also I am not trying to leave Josh out, he is just always working)

Lana and I went swimming at the Oldham County Aquatic Center the other day. It was a very nice pool, and had a great toddler area for Lana to play. She LOVED it, and we definitely plan on going back! Here I think she was getting splashed in the face!! :)
Also I have to add that she insists on wearing her hat and water wings, you might think that I the mother make her, but no- she is silly :)

It is impossible to get a picture of her face, but she had a lot of fun playing in the water
Lana makes friends everywhere we go, she LOVES playing with other kids
Not sure what she is doing here
Here she is at the Splash Park at the Zoo- again insists on wearing her hat :)

And there is also a little Splash Park near our house that Lana and I like to go to a lot! This girl LOVES the water!!

Big Girl

I am a little behind in my posting. We moved Lana to a big girl bed about 3 weeks ago. She has been doing SO great!! From the very first night she stayed in her bed with no problems, no fussing, no crying, no climbing out. In the mornings and after nap times she stays in bed and calls "Mommy" until I come in to get her. She is such a big girl! The three transitions I was dreading with a toddler were, taking the pacifier away, potty training, and moving to a bed, and we have now accomplished all 3, and Lana has done SO great with each of them. Lana has now been potty trained for 3 1/2 months and is doing SO great with it!! I was dreading all these milestones much more than she was :)
We basically waited as long as possible to move Lana to a bed, considering her baby brother will be here in 3 weeks, but I recently read that 2 1/2 years (30 months) is the best time to make the transition from crib to bed, Lana was 28 months, and I definitely agree that it was best. By this time they are supposed to have more self control to understand they when they aren't supposed to get out of bed, etc. Athough I am sure she would have done great sooner, I am glad that we waited, the tranisition was SO painless, and we have such a big girl! She is going to make a great big sister!!

So happy to be in her very own bed- no more crib :)

VBS Commencement

On Sunday night our Church had VBS Commencement. Each class stood on stage and sang a few songs or told everyone what they learned that week in Bible School. Here is Lana's class singing. She did such a good job, and I had to post some pic's because she looked so big standing up on stage!!

This picture is funny because, they sang This Little Light of Mine, which is one of Lana's favorite songs. Each of the kids were given a little candle to hold, I don't know if Lana's didn't work or if she kept shutting it off, but she was more concerned about her candle not working than singing the song, which she normally loves to sing. She kept saying "it's not working" and trying to hand it to her teacher :)

VBS

Lana got to be in VBS for the first time this year. They have a class for 2 and 3 year olds, and Lana absolutely loved it. It didn't end until 8:30pm, so we didn't get home until around 10 each night, which is way past Lana's bedtime, which made for a long week for Lana, but well worth it! Here are some pictures of the fun she had!!

Playing with play dough

Lana LOVED the parachutte
Eating popsiclesLana got to stand at the front of the opening ceremony and help lead songs one night, she was dancing and singing, too cute!! Pictures didn't turn out real well because it was too dark and I was too far back
